The Rise Group

The Rise Group

Transforming lives through joined-up specialist education

The Rise Group is a federation of three specialist education provisions in Redbridge:

  • New Rush Hall School (NRHS)
  • Redbridge Alternative Provision (RAP)
  • The Constance Bridgeman Centre (CBC)

Together, our provisions support children and young people across Primary, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 who require specialist education or alternative provision.

The Rise Group brings together the expertise, leadership and resources of three distinct provisions while allowing each to retain its own identity and respond to the needs of its pupils. By working together, we are able to provide stronger pathways, greater opportunities and a more joined-up approach to supporting young people across Redbridge.

Our Ambition

Our ambition is simple: to provide exceptional specialist education that enables every pupil to achieve, develop and successfully prepare for their future.

We recognise that many of the young people we support have experienced barriers to education or significant disruption in their school journey. We combine high expectations with specialist support, strong relationships and personalised approaches to ensure that previous experiences do not determine future outcomes.

Across The Rise Group, inclusion sits at the heart of our work. We believe in finding the right pathway for each young person, adapting our approach when necessary and remaining ambitious about what they can achieve.

Stronger Together

Working as a federation enables our schools to share expertise and create opportunities that would be more difficult to achieve individually. This includes:

  • shared leadership and specialist expertise across the three provisions;
  • consistent approaches to safeguarding, inclusion, behaviour and relationships;
  • broader curriculum, enrichment and personal development opportunities;
  • shared professional development and opportunities for staff;
  • stronger quality assurance and sharing of best practice; and
  • improved transitions and pathways between provisions and into pupils’ next stages.
Our Schools

New Rush Hall School (NRHS)

A specialist SEMH school for pupils aged 5–16. NRHS has 80 commissioned places across its Primary and Secondary phases and is currently operating with approximately 100 pupils on roll. The school provides an ambitious and personalised curriculum alongside extensive pastoral, therapeutic, enrichment and personal development opportunities.

Redbridge Alternative Provision (RAP)

A Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Pupil Referral Unit with 48 places, supporting pupils who require alternative provision, including those at risk of or permanently excluded from mainstream education. RAP also provides short-stay intervention and a dedicated Year 11 programme for newly arrived pupils with English as an Additional Language who have not previously accessed UK mainstream education.

The Constance Bridgeman Centre (CBC)

A 50-place Key Stage 4 Pupil Referral Unit providing a focused academic and personal development curriculum for pupils who require alternative provision. CBC supports pupils to achieve meaningful qualifications, develop the skills needed for adulthood and successfully progress to positive post-16 destinations.

One Federation, Three Distinct Provisions

The strength of The Rise Group lies in what our schools can achieve together.

By sharing expertise, challenging and supporting one another and creating stronger pathways between our provisions, we are continually developing the quality and breadth of education available to pupils.

Although NRHS, RAP and CBC each have their own identity and purpose, they share the same fundamental ambition: to ensure that every young person receives the education, support and opportunities they need to achieve and move confidently into their future.
